THE STORY BEHIND THE PICTURE
After more than 2 hours on the Kayak to improve my technique of approach, I finally get “Mother Instinct” ... And I know at this moment that I can return delighted, I will not succeed any better. Is there a protective instinct on earth stronger than that of a mother for her proteges? Usually elusive and fearful, the mother of these ducklings will not abandon any of her proteges. Safety, comfort, and even a cozy transport ... She will give and will become everything she needs to ensure the survival of her descendants. I am very proud of this shot.
I wanted all heads to be aligned in my photo because a single glance at me would spoil the aesthetics and uniformity of the scene. All the ducks had to look in the same place ... All but one. I hadn't even considered this scenario as it was so unlikely in a perfect profile portrait. I put all my energy and concentration into getting the right angle and movement I wanted... and luck smiled on me when the only duckling who was entitled to the exception turned to me ... calmly. As if he was telling me: "I'm not afraid of you, my mom is protecting me" Click...
